Bringing Michelle to Mar-a-Lago
Make the MAGA folks Crazy and Shake up the Ground in Florida for the Future
I know that most democrats have written off Florida in the Presidential elections, but in a “resource-rich” environment like the current campaign, the Harris Team should be devoting some of its resources toward investing in the future of Florida’s political landscape. Here’s why:
In the short term, it will force the MAGA folks to spend a ton of money shoring up Florida. That’s money they can’t spend elsewhere, and let’s face it, Donald Trump will not allow them to shrug it off.
George Conway, a Founding member of “The Lincoln Project,” five years ago published a piece in The Atlantic making the case that the former, twice convicted and impeached, President actually suffers from Narcissistic Personality disorder and Anti-Social Personality Disorder. That piece led to the creation of the “Anti-Psycopath” PAC, which has beamed ads directly into Mar-a-Lago and prompted Trump to spend money to counter those ads directly and has helped to push Trump to reveal deeper and darker levels of his psychopathy. Conway himself has contributed to both the PAC and the Harris Campaign. Acknowledging that his support of these efforts will diminish his children’s inheritance, he nonetheless insists that he wants them to inherit a Democracy, first and foremost.
In the long term, our democracy is going to need a better foothold in the Sunshine State, especially with the long-term threat from Project 2025 - and now is the time to do it.
The superstars of the campaign - less one big personality - have been deployed. It’s time to bring Michelle Obama to the plate. Time to unleash the one person that MAGA fears most.
Poll after poll early on in the Presidential race showed that the most popular figure in the political ionosphere is not the former President but, rather, the former First Lady who has no interest in running herself, but is more than willing to speak her mind, and both the style and the substance of her thoughts strike Americans right where they ARE. Because of that, she has a credibility that exceeds any other public figure, including her husband.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love Barack Obama, and Kamala Harris is using the former President right where he belongs, at the tip of the spear. President Obama’s speech recently in Pittsburg will someday be considered among his best and most important speeches, but so will the speech delivered by Michelle Obama at the Democratic National Convention.
Looking down the road is right up her alley for Michelle Obama who brings her down-home, working class, common sense to a determined, unifying vision of the American community . . . the American family.
Though Michelle’s most powerful effect will be long-term, and winning Florida in the Presidential sweepstakes is unlikely, she could make the difference on Amendment #4 to enshrine Roe v Wade in Florida law, that in itself would be one giant victory.
C’mon Michelle, bring it on . . .

Unfit for Office
Donald Trump’s narcissism makes it impossible for him to carry out the duties of the presidency in the way the Constitution requires.

About Wayne D. King: Author, podcaster, artist, activist, social entrepreneur and recovering politician. A three-term State Senator, 1994 Democratic nominee for Governor. His art (WayneDKing.com) is exhibited nationally in galleries and he has published five books of his images, most recently, "New Hampshire - a Love Story”. His novel "Sacred Trust" - a vicarious, high-voltage adventure to stop a private powerline - as well as the photographic books are available at most local bookstores or on Amazon. He lives on the “Narrows” in Bath, NH at the confluence of the Connecticut and Ammonoosuc Rivers and proudly flies the American, Iroquois and Abenaki Flags, attesting to both his ancestry and his spiritual ties. His publishing website is: Anamaki.com. Anamaki is a derivative of an Algonquin word meaning “abiding hope”, crafted by Alice Vartanian King his wife of 35 years who died in 2018. Fittingly, the term also has roots in both the Armenian and Persian languages of her own familial heritage. Alice, among many accomplishments, served in the Carter Presidential administration as the Administrator of the National Commission for Juvenile Justice; she was also the founder of the Massachusetts Civil Liberties Foundation and the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium Foundation.
